Frequently asked question at the tasting room. "When are you going to retire?"

Never. 

For me, this is the best job in the world. Strolling through the vineyard under brilliant blue sky. Pruning grapevines, whacking weeds, crushing grapes, making wines, having nice folks visit on weekends.
Every day is good. 
I am having too much fun.

This has been my way of life for over 50 years. I am not about to stop now. Every bottle of wine with a Frick label on it will continue to be made by me.

Tasting wines is hard work. Somebody has to do it so it might as well be me.
Real winemakers never retire.
