These wines are rare. Some are limited to just 1 last bottle.

They offer a chance to get favorites you many have originally missed. And to obtain past vintages for milestone celebrations.

Some of the older wines have reached peak maturity, offering the uncommon opportunity to experience age.

Mature wines can sometimes be an acquired taste - "An appreciation for something unlikely to be enjoyed by a person who has not had substantial exposure to it. It is the opposite of innate taste, which is the appreciation for things that are enjoyable by most persons without prior exposure to them."

Older wines sometimes benefit for decanting or breathing,  but there are no set rules. You can expect sediment so do allow a bottle to rest upright before opening.
