Tasting Notes: Brilliant garnet. Aromas of dark berry fruit and cedar. Cherry, blackberry, pomegranite and raspberry Meaty mission fig and freshly plowed loam. Elegant balance with dry complex finish.
The Grapes: Grenache, Syrah & Counoise varieties. All grown in small Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County vineyards.
The Vineyards Dry Creek Valley hillside and benchland vineyards.
Grenache comes from the hill above the winery, the old Conley Vineyard. Steep rocky terraces carved from the hillside limits the fruit to only the best.
Counoise & Syrah from Frick Estate Owl Hill Vineyard. This tiny vineyard’s ground is rock, gravel and clay from decomposed Dry Creek Conglomerate soil. Very low yield.
The Wine: Delicious dark berry flavors and complex earth. Grenache 40%, Syrah 40% Counoise 20%
